ABOUT

One Stranger’s Decision.

One Organization’s Purpose.

A small, sincere nonprofit that believes one person’s story — told with care — can inspire the next donor registration.

Our Core Values

At Mark Here 4 Life, our values are rooted in personal transformation, radical gratitude, and the profound power of human connection. Born from a stranger’s life-saving gift, we believe that checking the donor box is more than a routine administrative task—it is an act of deep compassion that honors human dignity and turns hope into action. We are committed to replacing myth and fear with honest, empathetic conversation, meeting people where they are in everyday moments to inspire real change. Above all, we value community, equity, and the conviction that every single life holds the potential to give someone else a second chance at theirs.

Purpose

Our work stems from what Mark experienced: a life paused in uncertainty until someone checked the organ-donor box. We want to empower others to offer this simple, life-changing gift.

Mission

To gently educate, encourage, and support people so that more of them register as donors—turning awareness into action and extending the second chance Mark received to others.

Vision

A world where organ donation is well understood, warmly embraced, and supported—where checking the donor box is something people do proudly and confidently.

Meet the Dedicated Team

Each of us is motivated by Mark’s experience and our shared belief that more people should understand organ donation. We do not see ourselves as heroes; rather, we consider ourselves neighbors helping neighbors by sharing stories, answering questions, and gently encouraging more registrations.

Mark Chervinsky

Founder & CEO

Mark Chervinsky, an award-winning documentarian and television editor, faced a fight for his life in December 2022 when he learned his liver was in failure; after being placed on the transplant waiting list at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in December 2023, he received a life-saving liver just three days later from a selfless donor named Spencer. Inspired by his survival, Mark founded the non-profit Mark Here 4 Life to encourage others to check the organ-donor box on their driver’s licenses.
